CLOTH ART DOLLS/DOLIAU CLWT

I make my worry dolls from two pieces of fabric that are stitched together and then stuffed.  They are embroidered, beaded and highly textured and handling them may lesson feelings of anxiety.

Rydw i’n gwneud fy noliau poeni o ddau ddarn ffabrig sy wedi’u gwnïo ynghyd ac wedi’u llenwi. Mae brodwaith arnynt a ganddynt leiniau a rhif y gwlith o weadau ac mae’n bosib drwy dynnu’ch llaw drosti, lleihaer teimladau arteithiol.

Cloth art dolls are made in the same way but have a base in order to stand upright.  Pipe cleaners wrapped in fabric and sewn on make arms which can be raised, point or make gestures.  I stitch wool, raffia, rags or fleece on to her head as hair; it can be tied, plaited or decorated with ribbons.  Needle sculpture is used to create the face.
